Haha. I know, I know. But trust me, you don’t want to use XML::Template. And while Text::Template is perfect for anything not involving markup, I hate doing markup stuff with any of the other choices available. Not for lack of trying either. I’ve been around a couple of blocks. And in reality, whether this module does eventually make it onto the CPAN depends on whether I still believe in the approach after I put it through its paces in actual projects in the coming months. >Go the other way with a branding-style name? > >Xplate? XMpLate (pronounced exemplate)? Ugh, please no. :-) I hate branded names. You won’t catch me ever putting something with a branded name of my own device on the CPAN, unless it’s a standalone application. >Good luck. Sounds fun. Thanks! It is, actually. I think anyone who appreciates XML will appreciate what I’m doing. I also just thought of something staggeringly simple a few minutes ago: XML::XMLTemplate. I think that fits excellently, and while redundant at first sight, it is actually descriptive (I guess it fits very well into XML-land in that way :-P), and it’s also disctinctive and does a good job of setting the module apart against XML::Template. And I can see someone who pounds [xml template] into CPAN search and gets back both results being curious enough to check out both. So I think I have my name. The teddybear, or something. :-) Regards, -- Aristotle Pagaltzis // <http://plasmasturm.org/>
