I have a pdf file, written by Dr. Nickalls, on solving cubic equations that was the basis for the creation of Math::Polynomial::Solve. I’m updating the module now, and I’d like to make the pdf file more readily available (I have Dr. Nickalls’s permission to do so). It exists at other web sites, but we have no idea how stable that is. I could just put it in my home web site, but that would only last for as long as I avoid getting hit by a bus.
CPAN, of course, is eternal, but putting the pdf in a module that is only a tenth its size would be an undue burden on downloaders, not to mention the lack of a clear policy on this. So. Is there, or could there be, a separate spot on CPAN for supplemental documentation like PDF files and graphics files? Has this ever been discussed before? Thanks, -john
