This will be based partly on my own experiences in taking over maintenance of ExtUtils::ModuleMaker from Geoff Avery, and partly on the responses I got from a survey letter I sent to about a dozen CPAN module maintainers earlier this month.
The presentation was well received. It reflected the experiences of about a dozen other Perl programmers doing maintenance on about 17 different distributions. I am grateful for all who responded to the survey.
