Hello,
Olivier Poitrey which is the maintener of Net::Server::Mail does not
respond to any of my request to any of the address I've found:
* [EMAIL PROTECTED] (address in use in French Perl developer list)
* [EMAIL PROTECTED] (registered in PAUSE)
and many other I've found in Internet.
I can vouch for Xavier's efforts in contacting Olivier, and his
professionalism in general, and also that Olivier appears to have fallen
off the net (haven't seen him at a Paris Perl Monger's meeting for quite
some time).
To those with the auth bits (Andreas? Adam?) I strongly recommend
allowing Xavier to be co-maintainer. Useful module, stupid bug, a shame
to let it rot.
Should Olivier complain afterwards, we'll just bribe him with a beer or
two. Either that, or break his knee-caps. Whatever.
Regards,
David
I'm using his library in production on Debian server and I produced some
patchs to clean some bugs (a 4094 bytes long mail can not be send):
* http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=18955
* http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=24038
* http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=24280
The last I published correct bugs reported since 1 year. Since there is
no response, I've reported the bug in Debian but it is not critical and
my patch will not be taked into account: the Debian maintener waits for
official upgrade, so I can not use Debian security upgrade without
survey if this library is upgraded.
So is it possible to change Net::Server::Mail PAUSE maintener ?
Thanks,
Xavier
