I like it. I think 2) and 3) are really the right way to do things,
and clearly 1) will be necessary for that.
Personally I think I'd rather depend on version.pm itself rather than
a M::B::Version work-alike, just because having two copies of the
code is an unattractive option even if they're maintained together.
Let me know when you've got a patch that you think is ready.
