why:
I use perl almost exclusively to develop on the raspberry pi and
the pine64 families of SBC's using my own gpio interface and
hardware drivers written entirely in perl. I have written bit-banged
drivers SPI devices such as MCP300X & MCP3200X ADC's, MAX7218, etc.,
a multitude of interfaces to I2C devices, 1-wire sensors, etc. all
based on perl.
