Sometime bewteen 5.6 and 5.8 the fileparse function was updated to croak 
if it received a blank or undef as a parameter. This backwards 
incompatibility is causing lots of problems in my shop. Any reason for 
this change? Any likelihood of an update to make it backwards compatible?
