Point taken,

what would you recommend instead? ::Basic? Reduced? It is meant to be simple in 
the sense of fewer options and capabilities, and so less complicated than the 
full blown version (as well as having fewer dependencies). It is also simple in 
the sense of less sophisticated, ie. less robust parsing and more naive overall.

Your feedback would be most welcome..
