Hi

Firstly, address email to modules@perl.org. That way, the list they go to is read by PAUSE admins. I'm copying this email to that list.

You can follow the list here:

http://www.nntp.perl.org/group/perl.modules/

As for the module, I don't have an exact answer, but here's what I would do:

1) Remove from CPAN all versions of the module, by logging in to pause.perl.org

2) Wait a few days, even a week if necessary, until (hopefully) CPAN is reindexed, and your modules have vanished.

3) That is, check the index before trying to upload any more versions.

4) Keep in mind you can never upload the same version twice. Since you use such tiny version # increments, jump bump the # when ready, and explain in your Changes file why you did that (i.e. no code changes).

5) Recently I and others have had problems with the upload, in that a valid download can come from metacpan but the copy (of the same version) downloaded from search.cpan.org is corrupt. I'm seriously beginning to suspect these things (my problem and yours) may be linked. I did re-upload a version but the same thing happened.

6) Keep the list informed of your steps and results.

Good luck!

Hello Ron.

I'm sorry to bug you, but I'm not getting any response from
upl...@pause.perl.org to the emails I've sent there lately. They're related
to the App::GitGerrit module about which we exchanged emails on Oct, 6th.
At that time, version 0.011 was stuck in the "pending uploads" page and you
told me that there was a delay. But later I found other problems with it
(described in the messages below).

Can you help me in any way? Perhaps pointing me to the right person or
address to talk to?

Thank you.

"Is there anybody out there?" :-)

I'm really sorry to bug you, bug since I haven't got any response to my
previous emails I don't know if there is anyone receiving them.

If there is, I apologize for being such a pain, but could you just reply
telling me to wait?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Since my last email I've noticed another thing that may be relevant.
Normally, when I upload a new version of a distribution to PAUSE I receive
two emails from upl...@pause.perl.org with the following subjects:

    - CPAN Upload: G/GN/GNUSTAVO/App-GitGerrit-0.009.tar.gz
    - PAUSE indexer report GNUSTAVO/App-GitGerrit-0.009.tar.gz

Since version 0.010 I've only received the "CPAN Upload" email. The "PAUSE
indexer report" is missing.

Does this help you help me? Please?

Hi there.

I'm having a problem with my App::GitGerrit with which I hope you can
help me.

Since I uploaded version 0.009 it got stuck in the module
list<http://www.cpan.org/modules/01modules.index.html>.
Even though I was uploading newer versions, version 0.009 still appeared
there and also on metacpan <https://metacpan.org/release/App-GitGerrit>.
Although, on search.cpan.org <http://search.cpan.org/dist/App-GitGerrit/> the
newer versions were always appearing.

A few days ago I decided to delete version 0.009 from PAUSE to see if
this would kick some autocorrection up. But it didn't. Yesterday I uploaded
version 0.014, which appears on search.cpan.org now, but since version
0.009 was deleted the module was completelly removed from the module list
and from metacpan.org.

Yesterday I tried to force a reindexing on version 0.014 at PAUSE, but it
had no effect.

Do you know what may be wrong with my module?

Below you can see a message I sent to c...@perl.org a week ago asking
for help on this issue. I haven't got any responses so far.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I think there is something weird with the module index at CPAN regarding
the module App::GitGerrit. Yesterday I uploaded version 0.012 to PAUSE and
it is showing at http://search.cpan.org/dist/App-GitGerrit/.

However, the module list<http://www.cpan.org/modules/01modules.index.html>and
also
metacpan <https://metacpan.org/release/App-GitGerrit> still show version
0.009 as the most current.

Last week I noticed this problem when I released version 0.010. It
affected metacpan.org and search.cpan.org. Since then (and after some
new releases) it appears to have been solved at search.cpan.org, but
metacpan.org still shows version 0.009 as well as the master module
index.

I may have done something stupid on 0.010, but I don't know what. :-)

Can you please help me to sort this out?

Thank you.
