why:
I am a beginner in Perl, but I genuinely enjoy the language. I have
been reading and studying the source code of various Perl projects
on GitHub and CPAN, mainly for learning purposes. Over time, I
started to realize that I might also be able to write and share some
useful modules myself.
I am a researcher in geography and spatial analysis, and I have
noticed that there are relatively few Perl modules available for
these areas. I would like to explore whether I can contribute
something in this direction, for example by experimenting with
modules for handling shapefiles. This is still a very early and
immature idea, but I would like to start by registering a PAUSE
account and see where it leads.
