You have several options for this, however the method I would choose is:
1). Configure new server with OS and install new Modus Mail using a new
IP Address.
2). Configure the authentication and other setting on the new server
(testing each).
3). Stop services on old server
4). Copy Mailbox directory and Spool directory over to new server
5). Change IP address on new server to match that off old server (you
should change the IP on the old server first so there are no conflicts).
6). Test and watch user activity.
If you use the VOPMail Web Mail client there is a little more work to do
as you should also copy over the user settings so that the address book
data is retained (the message data is not important as it will be
retrieved from the users mailbox).
The above process also allows you to 'Rollback' by simply changing the
IP Addresses.
A key part off this upgrade process is the fact that certain file
formats have not changed between versions.

I am going to be upgrading from VOPMail to the new Modus-L, and moving
email
to a new machine. What would be the best way to do this? Upgrade the
old
machine to Modus then move, install Modus on the new machine then move,
another way?
