Subject: [Modus] SMTPRS Handle Usage

* This is the modus mailing list *

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd bring this up here so that anyone else who is seeing the
same
behavior can send info to Vircom.

Our handle usage on our SMTPRS service keeps going higher and higher.
When
SMTPRS starts, handle usage is around 400. But over a period of a few
days,
it will continually increase. At around 1500, we begin getting random
"could not connect to the server" errors. By 1800, we have the restart
the
service. The complaints go away and handle use goes back to 400.

We restarted the service on Friday. It is back up to 1250 now and will
probably need to be restarted this afternoon to keep complaints away.

If any of you are seeing similar behavior, it might be helpful to send
info
to Vircom about it. You can see handle usage in the Task Manager under
the
Processes tab. You may have to add the Handle column, by going to View
->
Select Columns in order to see Handle usage.

Thanks,

Dave
