* This is the modus mailing list * Disregard... I figured it out...
Turns out it was my own fault. I was experimenting with an idea I got off the VOPRadius list about using wildcard DNS for redirecting users. While this by itself was not the problem, my Modus server's tcp/ip settings had the wild-carded domain listed in its "append these suffixes to DNS". Therefore, when a lookup on relays.ordb.org failed, it then added the wild-carded domain as a suffix to relays.ordb.org and checked again -- giving an incorrect reading and blocking the email. The hard lesson learned here is don't experiment with production domains unless you're a beta tester named Drew with a "No Guts, No Glory" slogan. :) - Del > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > Of Del Hines > Sent: Friday, November 14, 2003 1:23 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [Modus] RBL Blocking Everyone > > * This is the modus mailing list * > > My modus server just went haywire and started blocking all > non-whitelisted ip addresses claiming they were relays.ordb.org. > It was even blocking vircom.com mail lists. > > It started about 11:30am CST and I just turned off RBL checking around > 12:50. > > Anyone EVER see this before? > > Thanks, > - Del > > > ** > To unsubscribe, send an Email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > with the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the body or subject line. ** To unsubscribe, send an Email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the body or subject line.
