Yup - I forgot, Libya is a stellar example of a country that support human rights, treats its populace in a civil manner, allows for a free society, does not exterminate people, does not support terrorism, does not plant bombs on civilian aircraft (KAL 007) , etc.
yup, I would just love to live there - and experience all their freedoms

Well..... the US supports many countries with VERY questionable human rights records.
So singling out Libya just because the US does not need Libya is a bit on the low morale ground.

Lol, yup that’s about how I see it working. Especially the piss up a tree part. Then they would pass a resolution that they would never enforce.

The UN? What a joke, it would like giving K-Mart control over retail business in the USA.
The UN can not even run their own organization (putting Libya on the Human Rights Council). But since the UN is an organization "in name only" let them have it. The major players (US, Japan, etc) would tell them to piss up a tree and then the UN would have a committee meeting and nothing would happen

Yes, China helping to run the Internet.... hmmmm yes, that makes a lot of sense. Then we could INSTITUTIONALIZE spam and tax it.
Interesting story.
