* This is the modus mailing list * Over the past day and a half, we've been experiencing problems with the mail scanning service, MODUSCAN.EXE. We upgraded to Modus3 from Modus 2.1 and everything had been fine until recently. Now, MODUSCAN.EXE is running at near 100% utilization, and mail service seems to stop after the server has been running for a few hours. It brings the server to a screeching halt (console response is almost nil). We only have 700 accounts, and the system is running on a dual 500MHz server with 512MB of RAM. We ran Modus2 on this system for years without issue, so I don't believe the hardware is the problem (although I *do* plan on upgrading the hardware soon). None of the other Modus services are draining the CPU as much as this one is. Has anyone else seen this issue, and should the MODUSCAN service be running at that high a utilization rate (I can't imagine that it should)?
