Hi Dave,

Your spot on, what you should do is check for the Login ID entry either for the presence of an ‘@’ or use a Regular _expression_ check. Both methods should be achievable either client side (_javascript_) or server side.

Subject: [Modus] How to require Domain Name in webmail client

* This is the modus mailing list *

I can see there is an option to stripdomainname for login purposes. Is there

a require email address for login option? If not how do and what do I modify

to force logins using the full email address?

Problem: We use a radius server to verify both dialup connections and email

(with automatic creation of mailboxes) for two domains (one being the

default domain).

If a non-default domain email client tries to login with just his/her

username then an account is created on the default domain and the client

just sees that their email address isn't quite right.

Instead of a light bulb coming on, the deer in the headlights look appears.

We end up with inflated mail boxes in the default domain and the non-domain

customer doesn't get a good OOBE.

I see in the Login.asp there is a check for BaseName size but none to

confirm email address (ie check for '@') that could force the correct use of

the login page. Is this where the check should be done?

Thanks,

Dave Joyce
