I run modusMail and Webmail on 2 separate Win2K servers. I have 2 urgent
problems:
- My
webmail settings pages, quarantine and mail admin pages have stopped working.
I initially thought the problem was related to DCOM RPC ports which we had
blocked in order to protect the network from worms. However, disabling all
our firewalls hasn’t solved the problem. Stopping and restarting the MODUSADM
service seemed to fix the problem with these pages – temporarily – then they’d
stop working after a few minutes. When this problem persisted, Vircom
insisted that I upgrade from 2.1 b 268 to version 3 b 277. This hasn’t
fixed the problem. Our clumsy webmaster recently installed MySQL, Apache
and PHP on the Webmail server. I wonder if any of these have interfered
with anything.
- Since
I upgraded to modusMail 3, users can no longer view the contents of a
message in Webmail. The popup window has 2 frames. Only the top frame,
containing option buttons shows. The other frame’s contents (message
headers and body) never load. I notice that if a user clicks Reply while
the message is supposedly loading, the reply window pops up and the
message then loads. During the upgrade, I did not re-install MDAC or .NET
Framework – I don’t know if this would have adversely affected anything.
