No, you do not need perl. All you do is put moderate.dll somewhere it can be accessed by a web site.

I just configured this a few days ago. I followed these directions from vircom:

a) Create an isolated folder somewhere (say, c:\moderate).
b) Copy the moderate.dll to c:\moderate
c) In IIS, create a virtual directory pointing to that folder (call it listmoderator say)
d) Set the security for that directory's setting to LOW IIS.
e) Make sure the directory has read and execute access
f) Make sure that the modusmail is in the system path (go to dos, type PATH<enter>).
g) If it's not, right click on MY COMPUTER -> Properties -> Advanced -> Environment variables
-> Select PATH under system variables and add the modusmail root folder to path (eg: ;c:\modusmail)
h) Reboot machine.

I set up a sub-domain based on my company web site: moderate.platinumweb.com, pointed it to its own folder on my mail server, copied moderate.dll to it, did the other stuff listed above and it worked.

If you visit http://moderate.platinumweb.com/, you'll see I also customized the look of the system. That's another trick I'm happy to share upon request as well.

Perl? I need Perl? This is a fresh install of Win2K - just the patches and
service packs - and M3 of course!

hmmm...I did that - but I think I have some permissions wrong. First off
W2K did not create a cgibin folder so I had to do that, and when I
access the moderate tool it offers to download the file. help!
