As pointed out it the MSDE only allows 5 concurrent connections and
includes a 2Gb limit for each database.

Modus will normally only open 1 connection as it uses a System DNS which
will handle connection pooling for you. However, if you are using a
central Quarantine with multiple servers you would have 1 connection
from each server. You may also have a small Web App that connects to the
database to query it and present stats on your web site, which would
also use a connection.

For most users who would normally use the built-in quarantine the MSDE
provides a slightly faster interface as it will off-load the processing
to another server. If you are however running this on the same server as
Modus you will not see the performance benefits (some increase in
performance will occur due to the fact that SQL is a proper database
engine and is optimized for searching records).

What does a concurrent connection mean? Would a connection from Modus
be
one connection or would it be the number of connections Modus is
attempting?
