Someone is trying to get mod_wsgi working with unladen swallow. http://code.google.com/p/unladen-swallow/issues/detail?id=135
The outcome of that, whether they can get it to work and how well it performs will be interesting. At the moment I think the Python GIL changes being back ported from latest Python 3.X to 2.X will be more interesting though. We will have to see.
