Hmm, lets try something new. What do you get for:

  env | grep DYLD

BTW, why are you using MAMP to begin with, why not just use Apple
Apache? Also, why not just use the Apple supplied Python 2.6. I know
it is only 2.6.1 and not 2.6.4, but for most people the difference
doesn't usually matter.
