Just as a final point of clarification... I based my comments on this:

fully compatible—both source and binary—with Red Hat Enterprise Linux...."

It *should* work in the same way a RHEL RPM will work on Centos.  But
arguments aside, I think we've given him enough information to get the job
done one way ot another.
