There's not a lot to go on with this. What's in the logs?

If I had to take a completely wild guess at it, I'd say that you
should compare the .so files that apache loads and uses correctly with
your mod_wsgi.so. Check the output of "file *.so" and make sure you're
not mixing 64 and 32 bit modules.

Have a look at the output of ldd on your so files and see if you're
linking completely differently than the core modules. See what python
you are linked to, etc.

Any reason you can't use the mod_wsgi debian package?
