SuperMicro has some reasonably cheap boards with 16 667Mhz (cheap!) memory slots. 16 2GB modules are ~$1300. At YellowBot we have less than a dozen servers, but we've recently filled them ~all up with 2GB modules. It didn't cost us much and for now we're pretty close to "plenty memory for everything". Highly recommended. :-)
