Hi Adrian
If you mean that when you top up (to the top) and then run the car and when you
check again the level has dropped to halfway down the header tank, then is is
the normal level. If you get a torch you will see a level tag halfway down.
Whenever you fill above the mark, the excess water will be blown off under the
cap and down the overflow as there is too much pressure in the system .

Subject: [mogtalk2] Remote header tank level on +8
To: "mogtalk2" <[email protected]>

Hi all,

I have topped up the remote header tank level a couple of times over the last
500 miles of running, I would expect the level to remain constant. Running
temperature is at about 85-90 and rises when stationary, fan cuts in and out
ok, and does not overheat. Is the water loss in the header tank most likely due
to the header cap? I suspect that this is the original now 16 years age.

Thanks

Adrian
