Steve

I suspect that the "spacer" you have removed is an insulator that keeps the
central live wire away from the earthed frame of the light. They are known
to deteriorate with age. Difficult to replace, easier to buy a new light
fitting.

Which fuse are you checking? If your +4 is similar to our Roadster then
there is a 20 amp fuse in a holder on the firewall under the bonnet that
feeds a dashboard module from which the flashers get their power. There is
also a 10 amp fuse specifically for the flashers up under the dashboard
above the handbrake - almost inaccessible unless you have an ET neck!

In my experience it's usually and inexplicably the 20 amp fuse under the
bonnet that blows first.

Subject: [mogtalk2] Indicators not working!

Dear All

The other day I was out for a very pleasant ride in my '08 +4 when my
passenger side front indicator decided not to work.

I'm new to Morgan ownership (2 months) and I'm afraid to say, not very
mechanical, however I did manage to take the bulb out and go to Halfords to
get a new one. At this point the assistant tested the bulb and confirmed
that it still worked!!

Whilst refitting the bulb, I did notice that there was a spacer between the
bulb and the spring. This was loose so I tried the bulb with this removed.
The bulb flashed once and then all the indicators stopped working - oops!

Managed to locate the fuse and examined this. Seemed fine. Tried another
fuse that was rated the same that I knew was working. Still no indicators.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Many Thanks

Steve

ps

just seen all the discussion about comfort. Have to say that I had been
warned about lack of comfort before I bought, however I can say that I do
not find this to be the case. Recently sat in the car for 5 hours solid
driving (and sitting in traffic) to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Got out
as fresh as a daisy!
