My 4/4 has the registration E166 TUG. I was asked by a "cherished plate" owner 
what its significance was, since it was obviously a special number. I explained 
that E was for early 1988, UG was a Leeds registration (the car was originally 
sold by Otley Motors) and the rest was pot luck. He wasn't amused.

So far as I am concerned, the DVLA gets enough of my money in road tax on four 
cars.
