I too used to ask the same questions but over time I have come to appreciate the simplicity of the Morgan design. True, not too much is at all modern and some of the modern things would be easier if not so modern. Consider the wooden floorboards. Over time almost any convertible car will rot the floor out whether it is metal or wood. Water will get into the car, no matter Morgan, MG or VW. Over the years I have learned welding skills and have purchased equipment to properly weld metal floors back in, but virtually anyone can go to the home store and buy a sheet or even a half sheet of exterior or marine plywood and in an afternoon replace the floors of their Morgan. The wooden floors are simple, cheap, and really not any more troublesome than cars with metal floors. Traditional Morgans are simple, beautiful, and elegant. They are made for people like me. Cheers!
Elton -----Original Message----- Why are the floorboards wood, when they could be aluminium plate? Why is the fuel tank mounted on planks instead of direct to the chassis? Or onto another ali plate? ------------------------------------------- View posts on The Mail Archive http://www.mail-archive.com/mogtalk2@listbox.com/ [http://www.mail-archive.com/mogtalk2@listbox.com/] Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=22459785&id_secret=22459785-4a39ddf8 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
