Thanks Brian. Someone noticed !
Had a few jars in the pub with with an ex RAF warrant officer who did 35 years!
And he joined up after I`d left ! But his dear wife had been a Wren so I was
able to to feel the celebration was quite legit.
Where the hell`s it all gone ?
Cheers all, hic !

  Congratulations Ron.

In 1962 I had a 1937 Singer Le Mans, four seater. It cost me £20.
Aluminium body (red), steel wings and mudguards (black).
Tatty hood, my mother put on patches. I bought a black double duck tonneau
cover; the hood would have blown off.
Splendid engine, 972 cc single overhead camshaft.
Three brush dynamo. Good hydraulic brakes.

My grandfather circumnavigated in 1882/83 when he was 16/17 years old.
Barque Cashmere from Newport, Mon. to Newcastle NSW. (110 days)
Skysail ship Killochan to Astoria, Oregon, as AB.
Barque Nairnshire to London, as AB. (120 days)

  Cheers, Brian of SpotMog

Just realised that Sunday 9th will be my sixtieth anniversary of joining
the Navy. Any other old Fleet Air Arm veterans out there ? I bought a brand new
Bantam soon after and the car I drooled over then was a Singer 9. How tastes
change.
    Cheers all,
    Ron.
