+1. I just tried especially on a multimodule project using shade. With 1.0.0, I couldn't call maven after tidy:pom ran (this broke the XML), + the diff was huge. With 1.1.0 this works fine FWICT, and the diff looks far more normal (i.e. on a project that does not follow the canonical rules).
