Cool. Asynchronous alerts! You may also want to integrate support with the 
'maxprocs' keyword, to respect the configuration limits that mon already 
supports in terms of maximum number of currently running spawned processes.

As long as someone's working on it, it might be a good idea to insure a 
'maximum process lifetime' to insure alert+monitor processes don't go out 
of control or keel over and eat up mon (and system) processes. This would 
probably only happen in the case where there is an interaction between a 
faulty monitor and a faulty SNMP agent for example, but I have seen it 
happen (monitor kept running and slowly growing in size until it crashed 
the machine).
