If you are using the net-snmp package, it's fairly straightforward to forward traps to mon with snmptrapd. Here is a script I use as the default traphandle for snmptrapd; it forwards selected traps to a hostgroup/service in mon.

Hi all,
can mon receive snmp traps?
As stated in the man page it seems that snmp support isn't implemented.
Is that right?
Is there a plan on when that will be available?
Anyone of you has in the meantime created some patch for mon to enable
snmp?
