As your mon.cf says:
[...]
service telnet
monitor telnet.monitor
allow_empty_group
period wd {Mon-Fri} hr {7am-10pm}
alertevery 1h
alertafter 2 30m
alert file.alert /home/mobile/test.alert
alert mail.alert [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Some preliminary checks :
-this will alert you after 2,30 hour from when the telnet server has stop to work.
-check also the period you specified: is it ok?
-is the e-mail address ok/are the e-mail sent?
-has the user under which mon is running the right to execute all the monitor/alert?
-check out the /var/log/messages for mon's messages

Oggetto: Newbie - Why do I not get any alarms?
I have started mon with './mon -f -c mon.cf', and it is running. If I do a
'./clients/moncmd -s localhost list state', I get this:
scheduler running
220 list state completed
That looks ok, but I never get any alarms. I have attached my mon.cf file, I
have no telnet running on this machine, so should that not give me an error?
/Sren
