In the same vein:

Is any special setup required for mon to log server errors? 

i've specified:
logdir = /usr/local/mon/log.d
monerrfile = monerr.log

And the dtlog and alert_history logs in the same directory are getting updated 
regularly... but nothing seems to make it to the server error log.

Any ideas?
