I found that the cause is that one value was replaced by "(NO SUMMARY)" if white space and the other was not. Adding the line marked "# FIX" around line 600 seems to correct the problem.
This is already fixed in mon-1.1.0pre1, available from <http://sourceforge.net/projects/mon/> or <ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/software/admin/mon/devel/>
