I am using mon with heartbeat and it works great for monitoring applications
and providing failover. I am running into a
problem though when simulating a hard disk failure.

I am actually pulling the ide/scsi capable of the operating system boot drive.
When this is done the
server still runs and responds to ping requests. I believe it is running from
memory.

Is there a way to detect primary hard disk failure???? What about shared
storage disks failure. Any hints,
experience or suggestion are appreciated.

Thanks in advance
