Hi Just to clarify, Raghu’s question is not about Alarm notifications in Monasca, instead it is about exporting the raw or transformed event/metric data from Monasca to an external system either using message bus (Kafka, AMQP…etc) based transports or some other transports like UDP…etc.
For example, In Ceilometer system, after the agents (polling & notification agents) collect the event/metric data, the collected data is sent to a pipeline processing, where the data gets transformed (if configured) and then published to a number of targets using configured transports (the targets could be a ceilometer collector/database persister or an external system, and transports supported to publish to external system are kafka and UDP). So, Is there any mechanism in Monasca that provides the similar above functionality of Ceilometer? Hi, As far as I understand your query, monasca can receive metric data and send alarm notifications. Receiving : It will receive raw data thru monasca-api from the external source. The external source can use monascaclient or use ReST api to post data directly to monasca-api. Keystone authentication is used internally to validate the external request. Sending: You have to configure the target (eMail/WebHook/Pager), so that monasca will send alarm notification.
