Summary: M5 & SQL5: various tests hang/timeout on Darwin

Initial Comment:
While working fine on all other platforms various M5 and in particular SQL5 
tests hang/timeout on Darwin (MacOS X).

And that proved to be the problem. The BIGENDIAN configure code was
missing in both MonetDB and clients repos.

Maybe related:
Darwin is the one and only platform we have left that is Big-Endian.
