Summary: operator ^ gives error

Initial Comment:
The character ^ is not recognized as an operator anymore in SQL. To test, open 
a mclient and give the following command:

sql>select 2 ^ 2;

The errormessage is: !unexpected symbol (^)

The code is a checkout of the CVS current branch of June, 23.
