Is there any reason why monit will not use the PATH variable defined in the

This is for security reasons. The same is the case for many system tools such as e.g. crontab
Does any one have any suggestions on how to get around this, so that monit
can take the environment PATH variable from the shell instead?
It's probably debatable but you can, at the top of the script source in .bashrc or the resource that sets the PATH on localhost.
