Hello All
I have a small problem configuring monit to monitor my bind server on the
local machine.
I have configured monit according
http://www.tildeslash.com/monit/doc/examples.php and my current environment
(pid files paths e.t.c.) - everything works except BIND
In the monit web interface i get:
Status Connection failed
Port Response time connection failed to 127.0.0.1:53 [DNS via UDP]
Port Response time connection failed to 127.0.0.1:53 [DNS via TCP]
In the log files i get:
Aug 10 11:44:25 ns1 monit[16264]: DNS: no answer records returned
Aug 10 11:44:25 ns1 monit[16264]: 'named' failed protocol test [DNS] at
INET[127.0.0.1:53] via UDP
Aug 10 11:44:25 ns1 monit[16264]: DNS: no answer records returned
Aug 10 11:44:25 ns1 monit[16264]: 'named' failed protocol test [DNS] at
INET[127.0.0.1:53] via TCP
I have double checked that bind is running - it is running and the pid file
is also there and the paths in the monitrc are also correct. What could be
the reason of this? I have also tried with the real IP and the FQDN of the
server - its always the same - Connection failed
Any ideas?
