I think this question is too general.

See monit manual for "check system ..." statement, which allows to monitor total system resources, including memory.

If you rather need to monitor the resources per process, use "check process ..." and corresponding memory monitoring tests.


The monitoring configuration and actions depend on specific system and services context.
