Ps. and of course, read the monit log file /var/log/monit for any  
clues. To get more info in the log file try starting monit in debug  
mode, like so: monit -Iv You should then see log statements in the  
console as well as in the /var/log/monit log file. To quit monit in  
this mode, simply press CTRL-C in the same console you started monit  
from.
