Except... It doesn't work. 1 - I don't understand why udev doesn't create all label symlinks
# e2label /dev/sda3 opt # ls /dev/disk/by-label/ slash ssd 2 - Monit doesn't like symlinks ?! monit[2865]: 'ssd' unable to read device /dev/disk/by-label/ssd state I guess it's easier to check volumes by their real device name!
