Howdy! I don’t think monit is a good tool for that. Which doesn’t mean you can’t accomplish it that way but I guess it’s unnecessary hard.
I’m using a cron job for the output of /bin/head -n 1 /proc/stat (for load) and so on and feed it to e.g. rrdtool for graphical representation.
