I was able to work around it. If anyone else comes across this, you can just
send your alerts to your local user account and use procmail to filter out the
"Success" messages while forwarding on the actual alerts.

Hello Mark,
you can use the following alert settings only, see
https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmmonit.com%2Fmonit%2Fdocumentation%2Fmonit.html%23Setting-an-alert-recipient&data=04%7C01%7Cmark.faine%40nasa.gov%7C5975ff5462b3457d9ddb08d8b8d1aa73%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637462557940930362%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=OjBdOuRqNvLA5j3V%2B5Ej8do%2FpXO%2FVdDz2aTfzOR1RZU%3D&reserved=0

Unfortunately, there is no option to disable the "Failure" or the
"Success", "Changed" state in Monit itself.

But you can do this in M/Monit in a rule, that is defined for the
received warnings are sent by email.

With regards,
Lutz
