The /tmp directory is the system generic temporary directory, this means 
that any user and/or any process could use it for their own purposes. 
So, you shouldn't use it for your personal temporary directory without 
expect to see appear new files and directories created at any moment.

Currently Monitorix only collects one SMART value; the temperature. And 
it not uses smartctl at all, but the 'hddtemp' tool. This means that to 
get all the interesting values that SMART can give us for each disk 
drive, it indeed would need a completely new graph and collector.

Although this will not be implemented in a near future, I'll save your 
message for an eventually implementation later.
