Thank you for your response. It got it working now, thanks to your help. Here’s 
what my monitorix.conf now contains:

        smtp_hostname = localhost

                graphs = system, fs, proc, disk, net, serv, port, user, apache, 
mysql, bind, ntp, fail2ban, int
                to = myem...@provider.com

    </daily>
