Ed,

I understood that you wanted to edit the '.rrd' file directly.

You don't need to modify the Monitorix program (or .pm modules) to 
change the monitored network ports. Monitorix, as many other open source 
tools, has its own configuration file.

So, if you want to change the ports just edit the Monitorix 
configuration file: '/etc/monitorix/monitorix.conf'. Don't forget to 
restart Monitorix every time you change that file.
