Just in case people have been looking at Owin as an alternative to ASP.NETand want to host an application with Mono, you are more than welcome to take a look at my project, Fos (Fastcgi Owin Server). It is not a self-hosting solution like Katana, but a library to host Owin applications side by side with a Fastcgi enabled server.
